2010 Knitting Retrospective

2010 was a productive year of knitting. 51 finished objects.  1 Aran sweater, 1 gansey for a bear, 2 shawls, 4 blankets, 20 hats, 4 toys, 2 pair of mittens, 2 pair of fingerless mitts, 3 washcloths, 3 hanging towels, 9 scarves. That’s a lot of stitches! 51 FOs and, by total coincidence, I have been knitting for 51 years–since I was seven.

  1. wow….that’s a lot, what a sense of accomplishment! i didn’t do a year-end round up of FOs because I didn’t complete as many this year as last. just one of those things, I guess.

    happy new year noreen!

  2. 51 pretty things! I love the symmetry of that with your 51 knitting years. Have a terrific New Year! May it be filled with happy moments and creative projects.

  3. I don’t know if I’ve completed 51 projects in SEVEN years of knitting, let alone one! lol. Congratulations on such a prolific year! Your projects are really lovely.

  4. Thanks, all, for your comments on my year of knitting. Until “eskimimi” (on Ravelry) suggested that we blog on our knitting projects for the year, I didn’t have much sense of what all had been completed. It has been a fun, fun year of knitting!

  5. I feel like such a slacker, having only completed four projects last year (in the last 6 months, pretty much). What a great year of knitting you had! Love your educated sock monkey. Given his reading proclivities, maybe he’s a biological anthropologist, like me!

  6. …@Geknitic. I think you must have sock monkey figured out. His name is Poodie. But he’s clamoring for a name change. He wants his own library card and says it’s going to be hard enough to get them to issue one to a sock monkey, but if he has to tell them his name is Poodie he doesn’t have a chance. He wants his name to be Charles.
